Our House is a Very, Very Fine House
There is a box in our kittens’ climbing tower. Both Bates and Tufts love curling up in it . . . although it appears way too small for their enormous bodies. Guess its their “Very, very fine house”.

A Maine winter is challenging for us humans but not for a Maine Coon Cat. This afternoon, Mr. Tufts was surveying his domain on the deck railing . . . two stories above the ground. It was 19 degrees at the time.
Three weeks ago our Daddy had surgery and with Mom off at work, it was our job (as loyal Maine Coon Cats) to nurse him back to health. We never cease to be amazed at some of the positions that Mr. Bates and Mr. Tufts curl up in. Sometime on the floor, often on a bed, furniture or next to Mom and Dad.
To the unskilled observer Mr. Tufts . . . has the bone structure of a jelly-fish . . . but in reality he’s a perfectly normal cat . . . who finds absolutely ridiculous ways to sleep. One of the many reasons we love him.
When Mr. Bates wants to cuddle . . . MR. BATES REALLY WANTS TO CUDDLE!!!!
Mr. Bates and Mr. Tufts divide their time between their parent’s two homes in Wiscasset and Cape Elizabeth, Maine. At both homes their dad has a recliner and an office chair . . . all of which Mr. Tufts will appropriate whenever left unoccupied.
Like most cats . . . Mr. Tufts loves to climb hunker down in confined spaces. His climber’s box is his “home away from home.”
